Dale of Norway x SKAAR

After nearly 30 years out of the spotlight, it's time to bring back our most popular archive design. The 1994 sweater from Lillehammer Olympics is back, now in an updated version. The launch of the 1994 sweater is celebrated alongside another classic from the Lillehammer Olympics.

A NEW ORIGINAL

In collaboration with the Norwegian singer-songwriter SKAAR, we have joined forces for a shared tribute. For the new 1994 sweater, SKAAR has created a new version of the iconic Olympic song "Se ilden lyse" (Fire in your heart). SKAAR admits that the process of the original Sissel Kyrkjebø's "Se ilden lyse" has been challenging at times:

"It's a very beloved song, but it's been incredibly fun to find the core of the track. The '94 version is grand, while mine is more nostalgic, stripped down, with the melody and lyrics in focus. I'm reminiscing about my childhood."

The entire song "Se ilden lyse" by SKAAR is now on Spotify

IN A SYMPHONY FROM THE WEST COAST

Hilde Skaar goes by the artist name "SKAAR." The 25-year-old from the Stord, an island in Norway's West Coast, became known for grand pop songs like "Higher Ground" (2018) and the EP "The Other Side of Waiting" (2020) and has recently released her debut album "Mad Woman," which came out on September 29, 2023, via Warner Music Norway.

We are very proud of this collaboration, as it reflects a synergy of core values between Dale of Norway and SKAAR. SKAAR embodies values and attitudes rooted in the natural, genuine, and down-to-earth. This is not only reflected in her music but also in her lifestyle. She is a role model for many, and her authenticity is an inspiration to all who follow her.

Quality stands the test of time, and this applies to both the 1994 sweater and the song. SKAAR's voice and the authentic, unpretentious vibe create a perfect harmony. It is a great honor for Dale of Norway that SKAAR wanted to be a part of this collaboration.

"The sweater is incredibly nice, it goes well with my laid-back style. Now that winter is approaching, it's perfect with jeans and some boots." – SKAAR
